About me
Hi I'm Mike, I am a fully qualified Government Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) and I am passionate about road safety.
I live in Gosforth just north of Newcastle upon Tyne with my partner, Gill, and my son and daughter.
My great passion in life is football. I am the secretary at Gateshead Football Club who have recently been promoted to the Blue Square Premier League. I attend to all the administration at the club and follow them to all home and away matches.
I took up football refereeing during the 1970’s because I was never skilful enough to play the game but loved the involvement. I gave up the whistle when the children were born because more pressing things took over my life but in recent years I started refereeing the occasional Sunday morning match.
Latterly I moved into referee training and regularly help organise training courses for prospective referees.
I don’t have a lot of time for other interests but enjoy the cinema; theatre and the occasional rock concert when I can find a band from my era that haven’t retired.
